The Revelation of His Grace Thus Far. . .

The church started meeting on Jan 1, 1987 at the Hilton Inn (now known as the Courtyard Marriott) on Dairy Ashford and I 10. The fellowship continued for nine months at the same location before it moved to its current location. The journey at the current location would start from a little space that was rented by the church. As the years rolled by, the grace of God continually brought increase to the church and it rented more space within the same property. So large was the growth of the church that it was only a matter of time before the church purchased the entire complex that it once rented in 1991. Prior to the purchase of the property, the church started a day care center in 1989. The day care center has blossomed into what is now known today as Kingdom Kids Pre-school. As a church that was intent on enriching the lives of the community around them, the church started Memorial Christian Academy in 1999. The growth of the church continued steadily over the next few years and its facility was being stretched to its limits. In a bid to address the pressing need of accommodating the increasing number of people that came to church, the church built a bigger sanctuary in 2003. The church is a non denominational church, and it is characterized by a diversity that truly reflects the beauty of God’s creation.

Mission Statement

At Grace Point Community Church we desire, through God's power, to disciple a community of believers united in fellowship, love, encouragement, and support to instill a rich christian heritage solidly founded on the truth of God's word.

We are challenged to do the extraoridnary; over and above what the world is willing to invest, and to have faith in Christ Jesus which has no end.

We seek to exalt Him through all that we do.

Core Values

Wholeness in Our Lives: God desires us to experience life in all its fullness: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually!  Jesus came to give us abundant life!  John 10:10

Every Member is a Minister: God wants to show us His purpose for our lives and use us to help others find theirs! Pray to know God’s will and walk it out! Colossians 1:9-10

Being Givers, Not Takers: God desires us to develop and demonstrate a giving attitude and life style.  The generous soul will be made rich. Proverbs 11:24-25

Servant attitude: God is calling us to serve Him and others from the tremendous love that He gives us!  He wants us to be servant/leaders. Jesus didn’t come to be served, but to serve.  Matt. 20:28

Life Accountability: our accountability to God is demonstrated by our submission to those whom God has put in our lives.  Exhort one another daily. Hebrews 3:13

People of Vision: God gives us vision to keep us focused on His purposes and to show us new ways to accomplish them.  Without vision, the people perish.  Proverbs 29:18

Recognizing Character over Charisma: God’s development of character and the Fruit of the Spirit in our lives are higher priorities than individual gifts and abilities.  Without love, we are nothing.  I Cor 13:1-3

Valuing Each Individual & Family: As individuals and families, we have distinctive and valuable contributions and callings, regardless of race, gender, age or culture. Each of us are a valuable part of His body! I Cor 12:12-27

GPCC Statement of Faith

†   The Bible is God’s written revelation to man and is verbally inspired, authoritative, and without error in the original manuscripts.  God has called us to obey and teach its truths and commands.  (II Timothy 3:16)

†   There is one God, eternally existing in three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  He is the Creator and sustainer of all things.  He alone is worthy of our worship and obedience. (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, Luke 3:22, Colossians 1:16-17)

†   The deity of Jesus Christ is evidence in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and sacrificial death on the cross, bodily resurrection, ascension into Heaven and present ministry intercession for us.  We eagerly wait for His bodily return to Earth to reign in power and glory.  Our faith is in Him alone as our Redeemer and we submit to Him as the Lord of our lives.  (I Corinthians 15:4, Acts 2:4, 39)

†   The Holy Spirit performs the miracle of the new birth in unbelievers as they repent and trust Christ.  He also indwells all believers, enabling them to live a Godly life.  The baptism or filling of the Holy Spirit is  available for all believers today.  We are to minister God’s love and life-changing power to others through His supernatural power and the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

†   Man was created in the image of God, to be in constant fellowship with Him and to enjoy His presence.  We place great value on every person and recognize the gift of life is completed in knowing Christ.

†   The Church is the Body of Christ presently on the Earth. It is made up of all those who are trusting Christ as Lord and Savior.  The church in each locality is the visible expression of God’s Kingdom, to reach out to those who do not know God, and to build up and equip believers.  As followers of Christ, we are to show His acceptance, mercy and grace to hurting and broken people who need to experience His love.   (Matthew 5:13-16, 28:18-20, Acts 1:8)
